History on chain

Abu Ali Sina — known in the West as Avicenna — was a Persian polymath born around 980 CE near Bukhara (in present-day Uzbekistan), and he’s widely considered one of the most influential thinkers of the Islamic Golden Age. • Medicine: His Canon of Medicine (al-Qanun fi al-Tibb) was a standard medical textbook in both the Islamic world and Europe for centuries, well into the 17th century. • Philosophy: He wrote extensively on metaphysics, logic, and psychology, synthesizing Aristotelian philosophy with Islamic thought. His Book of Healing covered logic, natural sciences, and metaphysics. • Other fields: He also worked in astronomy, chemistry, and poetry, and wrote in both Arabic and Persian. He reportedly memorized the Quran by age 10 and was a practicing physician by his teens. He served various rulers as a court physician and vizier while producing an enormous body of written work — reportedly around 450 texts, though only about 240 survive. In Iran, he’s a major cultural and national figure — his mausoleum in Hamadan is a well-known landmark, and he’s often held up as a symbol of Persian intellectual achievement.
